The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Biyagama Police station has died due to a sudden illness.
According to Police, the OIC had died while returning to the Police station after engaging in official duties.
The Police officer had been admitted to the Kiribathgoda Hospital after suffering from a sudden illness at around 06.30pm yesterday.
The deceased officer has been identified as a 51-year-old resident of Negombo.
The Police said they believe that Police officer had died due to a heart attack. (NewsWire)
