A newly-wed couple in Mawanella are reported to have been exposed to COVID-19.
Kegalle District Health Services Director Padmakumara Weerasinghe said that a wedding was held in Mawanella without obtaining permission recently, and following PCR tests it was revealed the couple was exposed to COVID-19.
He said the couple have been admitted to hospital, while nearly 120 of their close contacts have been placed in quarantine.
A total of 151 Covid patients have been reported from the Kegalle district to-date, while 32,031 persons have been placed in quarantine in the district. (NewsWire)
