A total of 32 coronavirus patients have been detected so far from the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Borella, Colombo.
Director of the Hospital Dr. G. Wijesuriya said that the group consists of 20 children and 12 mothers.
He further said that apart from the group, a doctor employed at the hospital had tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.
It has been found that the doctor had contracted the virus from outside the hospital, while two other doctors who had come into contact with the infected doctor have been placed in self-isolation.
Dr. G. Wijesuriya said that the hospital is continuing to function under strict health guidelines following the detection, and urged patients to visit the hospital for necessary treatments without fear. (NewsWire)
