A number of houses have been destroyed after a fire broke out in the Kajeema-watte area in Grandpass, Colombo today.
The Police said the fire broke out around 2.40 a.m. today.
Nearly 50 temporary houses built in the area have been destroyed in the fire.
The Police together with firemen have contained the fire, while no casualties have been reported as yet.
The cause for the fire is yet to be ascertained, while the Grandpass Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
