A power outage has been reported in several areas due to the adverse weather conditions experienced in Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Power said the electricity supply has been disrupted for nearly 76,000 consumers at present.

It said power outages have been reported in the Dambulla, Kegalle, Rathnapura, Balangoda, Horana, Ingiriya, Kurunegala, and Kuliyapitiya areas.

The Ministry said trees had fallen onto transmission cables as a result of strong winds and heavy rains causing the electricity supply to be disrupted.

Meanwhile, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has urged consumers to file complaints with regard to power outages via its CEBCare mobile application or web portal www.ceb.lk

The CEB said customers can also lodge their complaints through SMS by typing BD<Space>Electricity_Account_Number and sending it to 1987. (NewsWire)
