Minister Wimal Weerawansa has gone into self-isolation for a period of 14-days starting from today.
The Minister said that several Police officers who had been deployed as his security had been detected with COVID-19.
“As I have been identified as a close associate of the infected officers it is my responsibility to self-isolate,” he said.
Minister Weerawansa further said his office at the Ministry of Industries will also be temporarily closed for 14-days during which it will be disinfected.
Stating that however, activities at the Ministry will continue without interruption, the Minister called on those requiring the services of the Ministry to coordinate it remotely if possible. (NewsWire)
