Covid vaccination centres operating today

A COVID-29 vaccination programme conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) will be conducted in Modara today.

The Police said the programme will be conducted at the Community Centre of Mihijaya Sevana housing scheme from 09 am to 05 pm. 

People above the age of 30 in the Colombo city limits have been urged to get vaccinated at the vaccination centre.

Meanwhile, the Covid vaccination centres operated by the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Police, and the CMC will continue today as well within Colombo and other districts. 

The Sri Lanka Navy is conducting a vaccination centre near the Colombo Lighthouse on Chaithya Road to administer the first and second doses of the Sinopharm vaccine to any person above the age of 30.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Army will commence a special mobile vaccination program in the Western Province from today for unvaccinated elderly people and special needs people.

The program, which will kick off at the Army Headquarters in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, will be implemented by medics of the Army Medical Corps who have been assigned for this purpose, along with 10 special vehicles.

The public is requested to contact 0112 860 002 or 1906 to register themselves to get vaccinated.

The health authorities said over 260 Covid vaccination centres are in operation today across the country.
