Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Sri Lanka cricketer Lasith Malinga have paid tribute to self-styled healer Dr. Eliantha White, who passed away yesterday due to COVID-19.

White passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo after contracting the coronavirus in August.

Paying tribute to Eliyantha White, Prime Minister Rajapaksa said he was deeply saddened by the sudden passing of the doctor.

“My deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time. His legacy will continue to live through all the lives, he touched and healed of various ailments,” he tweeted.

The Prime Minister further stated that Eliyantha White was a doctor who had had very close links with him for a long period of time.

Stating that White had not only healed national cricketers, Mahinda Rajapaksa said he had also healed several people in Sri Lanka and from overseas.

Meanwhile, former Sri Lanka cricketer Lasith Malinga said his foot injury in 2008 was actually miraculously healed by Eliyantha White.

“Thanks to you I was able to go to greater heights in my career and for that, I am forever grateful. May you attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana -Mali,” he tweeted. (NewsWire)
