Prima increases wheat flour price

Prima Ceylon (Pvt) Limited has confirmed that it has increased the price of wheat flour from Saturday (27).

The company said a kilogram of wheat flour has been increased by Rs. 17.50.

The increase in price has been announced a few days after the Canteen Owners’ Association announced an increase in the price of several food items.

Initially, it was announced last week that the price of a packet of rice will be increased by Rs. 20, and the price of a cup of plain tea will be increased by Rs. 5.

Thereafter, the Canteen Owners’ Association announced that the price of several food items including Kottu Rotti will be increased with effect from today.

It was reported that the prices of short eats (Rolls, Patis etc) will be increased by Rs. 5, the prices of Parata and Egg Parata will be increased by Rs. 5, and the price of a kottu Rotti will be increased by Rs. 10.

Following this, the Bakery Owners Association announced that the price of a loaf of bread will also be increased by Rs 10 with effect from midnight on Sunday (28).

The Association added that the prices of all other bakery products will also be increased by Rs. 5. (NewsWire)
