Cabinet approval has been granted to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Governments of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on health care cooperation.

The two countries have agreed to enter into an MoU between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom on issues of enhancing cooperation in the health sector and affirming the rights of healthcare professionals working in the United Kingdom.

In particular, Sri Lanka will be able to access the emerging employment opportunities in the UK health sector subsequent to the withdrawal from the European Union.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the combined proposal presented by the Minister of Labour, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Health to sign the said MOU. (NewsWire)
