Today’s power cut: Important announcement from PUCSL

March 5, 2022 at 10:25 AM

Power shedding may not take place today as announced before, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said today.

Chairman of the PUCSL Janaka Ratnayake said power cuts may not be imposed as the government has pledged to minimize power shedding from today.

Ratnayake further said thereby, the power supply may not be disrupted or may be reduced today.

He added that the decision in this regard depends on the availability of fuel stocks.

The PUCSL yesterday said that over 5 hours of power cuts in two slots will be imposed across the country over the weekend.

The Commission also said that power cuts have been imposed with immediate effect in Colombo City from yesterday.

Power shedding schedules for today and tomorrow, including for Colombo had already been released yesterday. (NewsWire)
