Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa visited Colombo National Hospital yesterday (18) to inquire into the condition of UNP councillor Uluwaduge Sandamali, who is currently receiving treatment after being assaulted.
Sandamali, a Colombo Municipal Council member representing the United National Party (UNP), was reportedly attacked by an unidentified group while returning home after attending the special council session on June 16 to elect the new Mayor of Colombo.
She sustained injuries in the attack and was hospitalized for treatment.
Sandamali has accused supporters of the National People’s Power (NPP) of being behind the assault. However, the government has denied these allegations. (Newswire)
