  • “The lives of thousands of patients” will be “at risk” if fuel reserves at all of Gaza’s hospitals run out in the next 24 hours as is expected, the UN is warning.
  • Conditions for people in Gaza are worsening, with water, food, power and medicines in scarce supply, BBC reported
  • Israeli troops continue to amass near Gaza ahead of an expected ground offensive targeting Hamas militants
  • The UN says the Middle East “is on the verge of the abyss” and asks Israel to let humanitarian aid in
  • Israel “has no interest to occupy Gaza or to stay in Gaza”, the country’s ambassador to the UN has said. Appearing on CNN, Gilad Erdan said that “since we are fighting for our survival… the only way is to obliterate Hamas, so we will have to do whatever is needed”

  • United States President Joe Biden has warned Israel that any occupation of Gaza would be a “big mistake”. Speaking in an interview on US television, Biden said he supported the creation of a humanitarian corridor for people in Gaza to leave and aid to be delivered.
  • Iran has warned Israel of regional escalation if the Israeli military enters Gaza for a ground invasion as the war with Hamas enters its second week.
