Police officers have donated Rs. 9,687,462 from one day’s salary to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, set up to support communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, the President’s Media Division said.
The latest contribution brings total donations by police officers to over Rs. 74 million, made through three one-day salary contributions.
The funds were handed over on Wednesday (22) at the Presidential Secretariat by the Personal Assistant to the Inspector General of Police, Senior Superintendent of Police C.C. Bamunuarachchi, to Secretary to the President Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake. (Newswire)
