Mahinda pays last respects to late politician Palitha Thewarapperuma

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has paid his last respects to the late former UNP politician Palitha Thewarapperuma. 

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Leader visited the late politician’s residence in Mathugama where the latter’s remains have been placed. 

Speaking to reporters, Rajapaksa said that Palitha Thewarapperuma was one politician who stood by and worked with and for the nation’s citizens.

Palitha Thewarapperuma passed away on Tuesday (Apr 16) after being electrocuted while working in his estate. He was 64 years old at the time of his demise. 

The final rites of the late former UNP Parliamentarian will be held at 02.00 pm today (Apr 19) at his residence in Yatadholawatte, Mathugama.

The late politician will be laid to rest at the grave that he built at his residence while he was alive. (Newswire)
