Outgoing Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong meets Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa

The outgoing Ambassador of China to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, met with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on Monday (27) at the Opposition Leader’s Office in Colombo.

The meeting was described as cordial, with Premadasa expressing gratitude to Ambassador Qi for his contributions during his tenure in strengthening diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and China.

Both sides exchanged views on the importance of maintaining long‑term bilateral relations, including cooperation in economic development, investment, trade, and development assistance, while underscoring the value of continuous engagement between the two nations.

Premadasa also extended his best wishes to Ambassador Qi for success in his future endeavors, reiterating the importance of sustaining a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership between Sri Lanka and China. (Newswire)
