On June 5, 2025, Abans Environmental Services (AES) marked their 40th anniversary with a significant and powerful environmental initiative : the Mangrove Revolution at Lunava Lagoon, Moratuwa. The company was started in 1985 and it has since expanded its business to meaningfully contribute to the sustainable long existence of nature.
Under the motto, “Growing Greener with Mangroves”, the Mangrove Revolution project involved the planting of 250 mangroves at Lunava Lagoon, symbolizing AES’ dedicated and persistent commitment to coastal protection and community empowerment across the nation.
This milestone also highlighted the pivotal role mangroves play in safeguarding and preserving nature. As a result, throughout the project, Abans Environmental Services emphasized the incredible benefits of mangroves to the ecosystem which include :
