“If the government decides to go for an election without completely eliminating the COVID19 threat from the country, it will jeopardise the entire population and our valued health workers” Former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said in a statement.
“We urge the government to channel all its focus into fighting COVID19 at this point, without thinking of holding an election to further narrow political agendas.” Sajith Premadasa said
“If the government fails to act decisively on this, the unreserved commitment and dedication of our health workers will prove to be futile” he added.
