65 new Covid patients reported yesterday (27) which was the highest number of patients reported in a single day in Sri Lanka.

1400 PCR tests had been carried yesterday to identify these patients.

Majority of the patients identified yesterday were Navy Personnel but concerns were raised after several Patients were identified from several areas in Colombo.

4 patients were identified from Colombo yesterday according to Health DG Anil Jasinghe.

Colombo Torrinton 60 Watta, Havelock Lane and Dabare Road, Narahenpita are the areas these patients were identified. These areas are now declared as isolated areas following the discovery of coronavirus patients.

“2 patients were reported from Narahenpita Dabare mawatha, We had a patient from there earlier as well. We identified these patients after doing random tests in the area. Apart from that we identified a patient from Torrinton 60 Watta, he had come from Bandaranayaka Mawatha. Then we had Colombo Municipal Council worker from Havelock lane tested positive.He worked as an assistant for a cleaning Lorry, Driver of the lorry had earlier tested positive” Health DG Anil Jasinghe said.
