Curfew Areas : People with NIC final digit is 1 or 2, are allowed to go to walking distance shops on Monday

With the latest change announced for Curfew by the Presidents office,  People live in curfew areas with 1 or 2 as the final digit on the NIC can leave their homes on Monday (Tomorrow).

“People can leave their homes only to purchase essential items such as food and medicines. They should select the closest outlet located within walking distance from their homes to make such purchases.” PMD said in its press release on the 25th April introducing the NIC based curfew system.

Accordingly, those with 1 or 2 as the final digit on the NIC can leave their homes on Monday, 3 or 4 on Tuesday, 5 or 6 on Wednesday, 7 or 8 on Thursday, and 9 or 0 on Friday.

Curfew for 21 districts will be lifted at 5 am tomorrow. So this system is only applicable for Colombo, Gampaha, Kaluthara & Puttalam districts.

People who are in isolated areas in the country are not be allowed to use this system.

People are strictly advised to follow health instructions including maintenance of physical distance in public, wearing of face masks, use of hand sanitizer and washing of hands regularly when going out.
