Sri Lanka among the worst hit economies by Covid-19 pandemic: “The Economist” latest ranking reveals

World renowned journal on Economics “the Economist” had ranked the economies of countries which were affected by Covid-19 pandemic, in their latest publication a few days ago.

According to their ranking, Sri Lanka is one of the countries which is facing a tremendous economic debacle due to the current pandemic.

The ranking includes economies of 66 countries worldwide. Sri Lanka is ranked 61st in the list, whereas the economies which have taken a rather bad hit compared to Sri Lanka are Angola, Lebanon, Bahrain, Zambia and Venezuela, in that particular order.

The ranking looked at public debt, foreign debt and borrowing costs of countries.
