Covid fund balance surpasses Rs 1 billion mark, President assures Audited accounts will be made public

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today assured that the audited accounts of the COVID-19 Health and Social Security Fund, will be made public.

The President said that the audited accounts will be shared with the public in due course.

“Utilization of the fund will be carried out with complete transparency, and the audited accounts will shared with the public in due course,” he said.

He also thanked those who contributed generously thus far to the COVID-19 Health and Social Security Fund.

The fund’s balance has now reached Rs.1064.4 million passing the Rs. 1 billion mark.

All the donations will be credited to the special account opened under the number   85737373 at the Corporate Branch of the Bank of Ceylon. Local as well as foreign donors have made their contributions to the Fund.

Donations to COVID – 19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund have been exempted from taxes and foreign exchange regulations. Deposits can be made through cheques or telegraphic transfers.
