Sri Lankan Government yesterday announced that it will ban import of several categories of goods to safeguard country’s foreign currency reserves.
According to the latest Central Bank annual report Sri Lanka has imported goods spending US$ 19,937 million in 2019.
19.5% of the entire imports were spent on Fuel. 14% Textile and Textile articles. 7.2% of the imports were on Food and beverages while 4.1% of the imports were personal vehicles.
