PDC T10 league to be played in Anuradhapura from 25th June

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board says it has not endorsed the PDC T10 League expected to be held in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka from 25th June to 06th July.

In a statement today, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said that according to recent media reports several Sri Lanka players will take part in a tournament called ‘PDC T10 League.

However, SLC said that none of the contracted players of the SLC have sought permission to take part in such a contest and neither has Sri Lanka Cricket endorsed such a tournament.

Meanwhile organisers of the T10 tournament have written to Sri Lanka Cricket informing that they are planning to play a T-10 Domestic Tournament in Anuradhapura from 25th June to 06th July 2020 with the support of the Puttalam District Cricket Development fund.

Eight teams representing Puttalam district will be featured in the tournament.

However, to add glamour to the event past national cricketers will also be playing for the first time in this tournament, organisers said.

They further said approval has been obtained from local authorities and they will ensure that government health guidelines are strictly followed during the period of the tournament to ensure the safety of the participants.

Indian media reported that some prominent former Sri Lanka cricketers like Ajantha Mendis, Nuwan Kulasekara, Thilan Thushara and Chamara Kapugedara are expected to take part in the tournament which will also be streamed online in India.
