The former Officer-in- Charge (OIC) of the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) IP Neomal Rangajeewa is accused of man-handling a photojournalist.
IP Rangajeewa is said to have obstructed the photojournalist from carrying out his duties at the premises of the Number 01 Colombo High Court this afternoon.
Video footage recorded at the premises shows IP Neomal Rangajeewa dragging away the photojournalist to a police post located at the court premises.
The incident is reported to have taken place when the photojournalist had attempted to take a photograph of IP Rangajeewa, who is the first suspect in the case over the Welikada Prison Massacre.
“I took some photographs of him and then he came to me and dragged me to the police post. Police took my memory cards” Photo Journalist Akila Jayawardana said after the incident.
