CCTV : Three killed in multi-vehicle collision on Peradeniya- Gampola Road

Three individuals, including a woman, have died following a multi-vehicle collision in the Karamada area in Geli-oya along the Peradeniya- Gampola main road last evening.

A motorcycle is said to have crashed after colliding with a pedestrian who had suddenly crossed the road, injuring the latter.

A three-wheeler that had followed the motorcycle in the same direction had run over the injured pedestrian again and toppled over crashing onto a parked car.

Following the collision, the three-wheeler driver and two women who had travelled in the three-wheeler were admitted to the Gampola hospital, the injured pedestrian and another man who had travelled in the three-wheeler were admitted to the Kandy hospital and the motorcyclist was admitted to the Peradeniya hospital.

The pedestrian, and one woman and man who had travelled in the three-wheeler, identified as a married couple, had reportedly died while receiving treatment. (Newswire)
