The Lanka Premier League (LPL) cricket tournament, which was to begin from 28 August, has been postponed.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva told NewsWire that the tournament had to be postponed as it was difficult to bring down International players to Sri Lanka due to quarantine measures.

“We had a discussion with the health authorities and the 14 day quarantine period for anyone entering the country is compulsory. So it’s difficult to play the tournament at the end of August”, he said.

“We will play the tournament in mid November after IPL” he added. (NewsWire)
