Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa says a new Sports Act will be introduced in the future.
Rajapaksa Tweeted that the Ministry of Sports is looking at the possibilities of replacing the existing Sports Act, introduced in 1973, with a new Act.
The new Act will take into account the current trends, future context, and global developments of sports, he said.
The Minister of Sports added that this is to be finalized once Sports Councils are appointed in due time. (Newswire)
