Renowned Sri Lanka Motor Racing Champion Dilantha Malagamuwa has received State Sponsorship after a period of 36 years.
Malagamuwa will represent Sri Lanka at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe Championship 2020.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa had extended their well wishes to Malagamuwa at the Temple Trees in Colombo yesterday (26).
Malagamuwa had met the two Government officials prior to departing for the Tournament.
He said for the first time in 36 years he had received State Sponsorship to represent Sri Lanka in the motor racing arena.
Malagamuwa further thanked all officials, especially Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga and Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Kimarli Fernando.
He also wished good health for Prime Minister Rajapaksa and hoped that new Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa will receive the necessary support to develop local sports in Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
