20th amendment : What are some of the changes proposed ?

These are some of the key changes proposed in the draft of the 20th amendment to the constitution published today.

  • President can dissolve Parliament in a year.
  • President can remove Prime Minister
  • The law barring dual citizens from entering Parliament revoked.
  • Minimum age limit for a president has been reduced to 30 from 35.
  • The limit on the number of cabinet ministries that was fixed at 30, has been removed.
  • The limit on the number of state &deputy ministries that was fixed at 40, has been removed.
