61 more COVID patients detected

Sixty-one more individuals were detected with the coronavirus in Sri Lanka today.

The Government Information Department said that the latest detections are linked to the Minuwangoda coronavirus cluster.

From among the patients, 03 are associates of the Minuwangoda apparel factory employees and were identified while in quarantine centres.

The remaining 58 are associates of employees of the Minuwangoda factory.

The Ministry of Health conducted 8,161 PCR tests yesterday alone to detect new coronavirus patients in the country.

It is reported that among the patients detected so far, none are in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) of any COVID treatment facility. (NewsWire)
