Vegetable vendors faced a dire situation this morning, after the Manning market in Pettah remained closed today.

The vendors were informed to arrive at the premises today to conduct business in line with the quarantine curfew being lifted in most parts of the Western Province.

However, the Manning market in Pettah remained closed prompting the vendors to sell their produce by the side of the road in Panchikawatte.

Meanwhile, the Police announced that the Manning market in Pettah will remain closed until the coronavirus outbreak is brought under control and health authorities grant approval for it to be reopened. (NewsWire)
