Cyclone Alert : 23rd to 25th very heavy rains above 150 mm can be expected in several provinces

People living in Eastern, Northern and North-Central provinces are requested to be vigilant due to a possible cyclone / depression on November 24th.

During November 23rd -25th very heavy rains above 150 mm can be expected at some places in Northern, Eastern and North Central provinces and the wind speed can be increased up to (40 -50)kmph – MET Department.

The Low Pressure developed in Bay of Bengal expected to intensify further into a depression.
The system is likely to move towards Eastern and Northern coast of Sri Lanka on November 24.
