Covid tests will be conducted on all those who leave the Western Province over the five days starting from Thursday (28).
Police Spokesman Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said Covid tests will be carried out from 28 January – 01 February.
He said all those leaving the Western Province during this period will be subjected to rapid antigen tests at 11 exit points of the Western Province.
DIG Rohana said precautionary measures are being taken in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus to other areas outside the Western Province.
He further said this is due to a large number of Covid infected persons being detected from the Western Province on a daily basis. (NewsWire)
