The Police have arrested a 22- year- old girl on charges of abducting a youth from the Randoluwa, Muthuwadiya area in Seeduwa and murdering him.
The Police had earlier arrested another 4 men over the same charges.
Police Spokesman Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said the youth had been abducted on Monday (08) and his body was recovered from the Kotawehera area in Nikkaweratiya yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as a 26-year-old male from the Maggona area in Matara.
Investigations have revealed that the victim had been murdered by the individual who had rented a building in Matara which was owned by the youth.
A personal dispute is said to have occurred when the suspect had attempted to extend the rental period.
The suspect is found to have used a 22-year-old woman to befriend the victim via Facebook and had lured him to a hotel in Seeduwa.
The youth who had arrived in Seeduwa had been abducted by a group of individuals, and had later been murdered, with his body being disposed in a forest area in Kotawehera.
The five suspects are currently detained at the Seeduwa Police station for further investigations. (NewsWire)
