A senior security official attached to the land Registrar General’s Department in Attanagalla has been arrested on charges of soliciting a bribe of Rs. 500.
The security official was arrested by officers from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption inside the land Registrar General’s Department.
The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by a resident of Nalla in Divuldeniya.
The suspect is reported to have solicited the bribe to retrieve 25 years’ worth of documents of a land owned by the complainant and to take further measures in this regard.
The senior security officer will be produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
