The Education Ministry has proposed to amend the examination period allocated for the GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Examinations in Sri Lanka.
Education Ministry Secretary Professor Kapila Perera has proposed that the Ordinary Level Examination be held in August, while the Advanced Level Examination be held in December.
He said a proposal in this regard will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval next week.
Professor Kapila Perera believes this new system will enable the Government to reduce the academic period for school children by 09 months. (NewsWire)
