A 78-year-old man has been arrested in Aralagangwila on charges of stealing motorcycles.
Police Spokesman Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said the suspect had stolen motorcycles from various areas and resold them.
The suspect was arrested based on a tip off received by the Aralagangwila Police.
The Police seized 17 motorcycles that were in the possession of the suspect at the time of his arrest.
Investigations have revealed that the man had stolen more motorcycles and had already sold it to third parties in different areas.
The suspect has been detained for questioning, while the Police are conducting further investigations to trace the sold motorcycles. (NewsWire)
