Suspicious woman attempting to attend Black Sunday protest in Katugastota arrested

A woman with documents containing inscriptions from the Quran was arrested by the Katugasthota Police on Sunday.

According to Swarnavahini, the woman had attempted to enter the Roman Catholic Church in Siyambalagasthenne in Katugasthota, which had participated in the Black Sunday protest.

The 53-year-old suspect with an English name was arrested after attempting to enter the church in a suspicious manner.

The Police said the woman had revealed her true identity after being interrogated.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of Katugasthota.

The Katugasthota Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
