The Traffic Police Constable who assaulted a lorry driver in Pannipitiya has been arrested.
Police yesterday launched an investigation into the incident following wide criticism on social media.
The video showed the Police officer, who is assumed to have been on traffic duty, assaulting a man in the middle of the road.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the incident had taken place when the lorry crashed into the Traffic OIC of the Maharagama Police. (NewsWire)
