Sri Lanka cricketer Kusal Mendis has apologized for a statement he had made during the tour to South Africa in 2019.
During the presentation ceremony, Mendis had criticized those who had criticized his performance, saying only those who know cricket supported him and the team.
When asked about the controversial statement in an recent interview, Mendis said he regrets making such a statement and said he apologises to his fans for the statement which he was made while he was under pressure during the series.
Mendis who is currently out of the national side, said that he is practicing very hard to make a come back to the national squad.
