Another 108 arrested for violating quarantine laws

Another 108 individuals have been arrested for violating quarantine regulations.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects were arrested in the 24-hour period ending at 06am today.

He said they were arrested for not wearing face masks and for failing to follow social distancing.

A total of 3755 people have been arrested for violating quarantine regulations since 30th October 2020.

The Police Spokesman said legal action has been initiated against 3650 out of the group.

He warned that stringent cation will be taken against those violating quarantine regulations.

DIG Ajith Rohana urged the public to continue to wear face masks and maintain social distancing as there is a significant spike in Covid cases at present. (NewsWire)
