United National Party (UNP) leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to enter Parliament by mid-June.
Party Chairman Vajira Abeywardene said the former Prime Minister will enter Parliament through the party’s single National List seat.
A decision in this regard was taken during a meeting with party seniors which was held yesterday (19), he said.
Commenting on the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill, Vajira Abeywardene said the UNP leader is of the view that the Supreme Court has worked towards safeguarding the rights of the legislature.
He said Wickremesinghe believes that the Supreme Court has managed to safeguard the power of the Judiciary and the legislature through its determination on the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill. (NewsWire)
