CCTV footage on Shangri-La party guests released

Six out of the seven suspects who were arrested for attending the birthday celebrations of event organizer Chandimal Jayasinghe at the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo have been placed under quarantine.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the seven suspects were arrested today and produced in court.

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court had released them on bail, while the Police had informed court that necessary action will be initiated against them under the quarantine law.

DIG Ajith Rohana said six out of the seven suspects have been transferred to a quarantine centre in Passara to undergo mandatory quarantine for 14-days. However, an elderly person among the suspects will be quarantined at his residence.

The Police spokesman said 22 suspects have been arrested so far in connection to the party, with the Colombo Crimes Division also conducting further investigations.

The 15 suspects who were arrested earlier, including Chandimal and model Piumi Hansamali, have already been transferred to the quarantine centre in Passara. (NewsWire)
