The Health Ministry is to revise the vaccination priority list following the arrival of more COVID-19 vaccines in the future, the Daily Mirror reported.

Director-General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said people above the age of 60 will be prioritised, while elderly people in Care Homes will be second priority to receive the vaccine.

Pregnant women will be categorised as the third priority, while Government officers in the field will be the fourth priority group to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

Dr. Asela Gunawardena said employees of factories such as apparel factories in high-risk Medical Officer of Health (MOH) areas will thereafter be vaccinated.

People between the ages of 30 to 60 would be provided the vaccines, following the completion of the vaccination process for the priority groups, he said.

The decisions pertaining to the COVID-19 vaccination drive have been taken during a meeting of the National Covid Task Force held recently. (NewsWire)
