The decision to remove the Lanka Phosphate Company Ltd from under the purview of Industries Minister Wimal Weerawansa and gazetting it under the Ministry of Agriculture is irrational, Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila said.
Speaking during a programme on Ada Derana, Minister Gammanpila said the reasons cited for the decision are irrational, and should have been informed to Minister Weerawansa prior to being implemented.
“Minister Wimal Weerawansa came to know on removal of Phosphate Company from his ministry through a SMS news alert, Reason given is irrational” Minister Gammanpila said. (NewsWire)
