Another 50,000 doses of Sputnik V Covid vaccine arrive in SL

Another stock of the Sputnik V vaccine arrived in Sri Lanka today.

The consignment consisted of 50,000 doses of the Russian manufactured vaccine. 

The new batch of the vaccine arrived in a special flight at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake early this morning.

The first stock of 15,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine arrived on 4th May, with the Government rolling out the vaccination drive to inoculate residents of Gothatuwa.

Sri Lanka thereafter received a stock of 50,000 doses of the vaccine on 28th May, and another 65,000 doses on 11th June.

The Government is expected to receive a total of 07 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine as per the order placed by the State PharmaceuticalCorporation of Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
