The Railway Guard of a train that was stopped at the Dehiwala Railway station last morning has been assaulted by two youths.
The Police said the youths had attempted to board the train without wearing face masks.
They had assaulted the Railway Guard who had admonished them and requested them to wear their face masks before boarding the train, which was travelling from Wadduwa to Ragama.
The Police said the injured Railway Guard has been hospitalised, while a complaint has been filed on the incident with the Dehiwala Police.
The two suspects, who are aged 20 and 27 and residents of Dehiwala, were arrested following investigations launched by the Dehiwala Police.
The Police said the two youths will be produced in courts after being produced for an identification parade. (NewsWire)
