Weather advisory issued for next 36 hours

The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory which will be in effect for the next 36-hours starting from 04.00 pm today.

The Department said showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces and in the Galle and Matara Districts.

Several spells of showers will occur in North-Western Province, while showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa Districts in the evening or night.

The Met Department further said fairly strong winds up to 40-50 kmph and gusting up to 60 kmph can be expected in the western slope of the central hills, the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western Provinces, and in the Hambantota and Trincomalee Districts. (NewsWire)
