A disciplinary inquiry will be conducted against Sri Lanka cricketers Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunatileke, and Niroshan Dickwella on Thursday, the 29th of July.

The inquiry will be held over the incident in which they had violated quarantine regulations while on tour to England.

A five- member committee headed by former Supreme Court judge Nimal Dissanayake will conduct the inquiry at the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) premises.

According to reports, the three Sri Lanka cricketers are prepared to face the inquiry on the said date. All three cricketers have reportedly written to the committee apologizing for the incident.

Investigations were launched by the SLC after a video was circulated on social media showing Sri Lankan cricketers Danushka Gunatilake, Niroshan Dickwella and Kusla Mendis roaming the streets of Durham on 27th June.

The cricketers were said to have broken the bio-bubble in which they were placed while on tour to England.

The incident created a buzz on social media, with many cricket fans criticizing the behaviour of the cricketers.

The decision taken following the disciplinary inquiry held this week will decide the future of the three cricketers with regard to the national team. (NewsWire)
